Sprout‐H is truly a next‐generation laser designed and manufactured using many years of experience to provide a sealed, turn‐key source of collimated green light with high spectral purity. The LDTC Laser Diode Driver and Temperature Controller combines Wavelength Electronics proprietary FL500 and highly stable WTC3243 in one compact module. LDTC modules are in use around the world providing trouble-free reliability in range finders, telecom laser modules, military-aerospace research and development, airborne metrology, academic research, laser diode LIV testers, and more.

The laser driver is based on our popular FL500, known for low noise output and trouble-free operation. Two models are available, providing either 500 mA (LDTC0520) or 1.0 A output current (LDTC1020). The current limit circuit cleanly clamps laser diode current without ringing or overshoot, and recovers without inducing a phase shift in a modulated laser signal.

The temperature controller is designed around the WTC3243, our ultra-stable temperature control module known for the ability to sweep load temperature across ambient. Independent cooling- and heating-current limits allow the LDTC to be used with thermoelectric coolers or resistive heaters and either negative or positive temperature coefficient sensors.

Remote computer control is available using the USBKIT, which also allows graphing and datalogging.

Excelitas Technologies introduces the all new high performance four channel single photon counting modules (SPCM). Excelitas Technologies is a global leader focused on delivering innovative, customised optoelectronics solutions.

Excelitas Technologies have extended it’s portfolio of low-light-level detection modules with a multi-channel version of the well-known SPCM single photon counting module that is based on a unique silicon avalanche photodiode (SLiK) that has a circular active area of 180μm with a peak photon detection efficiency exceeding 60% at 650nm. Each photodiode is both thermoelectrically cooled and temperature controlled, ensuring stabilized performance despite changes in the ambient temperature.

The SPCM-AQ4C card uses an improved circuit with a peak count rate >4 M c/s for short bursts of time on all 4 channels and a count rate of 1.5 M c/s for continuous operation. There is a "dead time" of 50 nanoseconds (ns) between pulses. The module requires +2 Volts, +5 Volt, and +30 Volt power supplies. The output of each channel – a TTL pulse that is 4.5 Volts high (into a 50 Ω load) and 25 ns wide – is available at the card edge behind the circuit board. Each TTL pulse corresponds to a detected photon.

Zurich Instruments just added the MF-PID option with 4 independent PID (proportional - integral - derivative) controllers to their MFLI. The MF-PID option builds on class-leading specifications of the MFLI such as low input noise of 2.5 nV/√Hz and a high dynamic reserve of 120 dB. Each controller is seamlessly integrated with the lock-in amplifier, the programmable PIDs enable operation in a wide range of applications such as the setup of phase-locked loops (PLLs) for the phase synchronization of two lasers, CEO stabilization and advanced AFM modes. The maximum control loop bandwidth is 50 kHz.

When setting up a new control loop, the user is well supported by the LabOne PID-Advisor which offers a selection of models that can be picked and adjusted to have a close match with different applications. After defining the target bandwidth, the PID-Advisor suggests a set of parameters and graphically displays the corresponding transfer-function and step-response. Once the feedback loop is running, the auto-tune function optimizes the parameters to minimize the residual PID error. The software toolset included in LabOne also offers a parametric sweeper, oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer. These tools can be used to efficiently analyze the performance of the loop and compare to the selected model. In phase-locked-loop (PLL) mode, phase unwrapping extends the input range to ±1024 π, meaning a reliable feedback at start-up and robust operation throughout.

The MF-PID option can be used in many applications, including frequency combs, frequency-transfer-locks, optical fibre noise-cancellation, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM), MEMS resonators and gyroscopes.

ARCoptix's Radial Polarizer converts a linearly polarized beam into a beam that has a continuous radial or azimuthal polarization distribution. This unique technology is based on a special alignment of the nematic liquid crystal molecules which are capable of locally rotating the orientation of the linearly polarized laser beam. Either azimuthally or radially distributed polarization is obtained depending on the orientation of the device with respect to the laser polarization.
