BLUE-Wave Spectrometers are fibre optic coupled instruments with a wide selection of models for measurements in 200-1150nm wavelength ranges. Each unit contains a USB interface with a snap shot memory to provide instantaneous spectral image from the highly sensitive CCD
Various models provide a choice of grating range and slit resolutions. New and improved electronics with a high speed 16-bit digitiser allows for fast data acquisition and a signal to noise of 1000:1. Up to 8 units can be daisy chained together and are able to run simultaneously. Additionally the BLUE-Wave spectrometers can be powered directly from your PC USB-2 port. A single strand fibre optic cable or probe assembly delivers input via standard SMA 905 fibre optic connector with a choice of cable lengths. The spectrograph optics are exceptionally robust in a vibration tolerant modular design, with no moving parts.
The detachable spectrograph assembly and control electronics are protected inside a rugged metal enclosure, suitable for portable, process, and lab applications. Several units may be daisy-chained using a standard USB hub allowing simple configurations for dual and multi-beam applications in chemistry, spectroradiometry, and PORTA-LIBS. The small size and weight makes the BLUE-Wave spectrometers perfect for portable and OEM applications.
[ Show/Hide Product Table ]The BLACK-Comet UV-VIS spectrometers utilise a 40mm diameter concave grating with aberration correction to provide superb spectral imaging. This significantly improves spectral shapes by reducing comma and astigmatism found in plane grating spectrograph designs. The spectrograph architecture does not utilise mirrors, and therefore provides the lowest possible stray light in the UV with additional assistance from the holographic line grating. The concave grating produces a flat field on the CCD
One of the main advantages of the BLACK-Comet is its ability to drastically reduce stray light levels, (0.02% at 435nm and 0.2% at 200nm) the lowest values of any field spectrometer. By design, the holographic grating has a smoother surface than the normal ruled gratings used in competing spectrometer models. Surface roughness is the primary source of grating generated stray light and thus by employing superior grating technology, Concave Grating Spectrometers are able to drastically reduce the effect. Additionally, grating scatter in the standard Cserny Turner design is collected and focused by the focusing mirror toward the exit port, this does not occur with the BLACK-Comet. When additional optical components like collimating and focusing mirrors are used in instrument design, it is more likely that light may be re-diffracted and scattered. Similarly, due to the spectrometers ability to reduce light scatter, especially high power UV light, the Concave Grating spectrometer provides two to three times enhanced UV sensitivity as compared to plane grating/Cserny Turner optical configurations.
Miniature fibre optic spectrometers, with concave gratings deliver high performance for spectroscopy applications in the UV-Vis
The "Super Range" concave grating spectrometer for UV-Vis-NIR
Designed for high resolution applications, the BLACK-Comet-HR spectrometer is available for measurements in two ranges - UV (200-600nm) and Visible (380-750nm), and achieves resolving resolutions of 0.4nm. This 16-bit concave grating spectrometer is USB-2 powered, shock-proof and vibration tolerant with no moving parts, includes the powerful SpectraWiz® spectrometer software and development kit.

The EPP2000-HR High Resolution fibre optic spectrometers are available in several low cost models for UV
The HR spectrometers have double the resolution over standard models with the same grating. The wavelength range is reduced by the same factor. Resolutions better than 0.1nm can be achieved depending on selected model range, detector, and slit size.
Applications include wavelength monitoring and characterisation for tuneable lasers/LED
Wavelength Range: 200-1100nm
The UVN-SR fibre optic spectrometer covers the 200-1100nm wavelength range and easily performs a variety of spectroscopy measurements with the SpectraWiz software. The optics utilise a UV
The UVN-SR can be optionally calibrated for use as a SpectroRadiometer when precision measurement of light colour and absolute intensity is needed. A 25µm slit or larger is recommended for best spectroradiometric performance coupled with a 1000µm core diameter fibre input (via standard SMA 905 connector).
The portable instrument is packaged in a small rugged metal enclosure for use with single strand fibre optic input cable. The electronics interface can be attached directly to a computers high speed USB-2. The units are vibration tolerant and are exceptionally robust with no internal adjustments or moving parts.

Dual-DSR spectrometer systems combine two instruments to cover the ultraviolet, visible and near infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The two instruments work as one creating a unified spectral graph over the entire wavelength region, 200-2300nm. Both instruments employ a UV-Vis
Various models allow for ranges from 200-1700, 280-1700, or 200-2300nm depending in the measurement specifications required. These spectrometers are ruggedised for field or lab process measurements. A Miniature USB-Hub provides instrument PC interface. The Dual-DSR system has many applications for spectroradiometry, food and drug QA/QC
These units are extremely ruggedised. The detector is bolted in position and military grade epoxy holds the concave grating in place, making the instruments vibration tolerant, durable, and suitable for just about any lab and/or field measurement. A multi-band filter is integrated into the spectrograph to provide order sorting and prevent optical aliasing. The instruments optical input is attached via standard SMA-905 connector, using single strand fibre optic cable with typical silica core diameters of 400um, 600um, 1000um.
