TEMPO laser ultrasound has been designed for precise laboratory experiment. It can measure in-plane and out-of-plane surface displacement with ultra-sensitivity (Detection of sub-nm displacement), high frequency (up to 1GHz) and excellent spatial resolution (down to 10 micrometre diameter spot on the sample).
This product facilitates measurement of sub-picometre in-plane and out-of-plane displacement at high frequency (up to 1 GHz) on any surface type without contact. Based on photorefractive two-wave mixing, TEMPO works at optimum performances with multi-speckled beam. TEMPO large aperture (∼50mm) collects much more optical power on diffusing surfaces than a classical interferometer, which directly translates into higher sensitivity and signal to noise ratio. Output delivers a time signal directly proportional to the surface displacement of the sample.
Designed for point-and-shoot operation, TEMPO is easy to operate (calibrated output, focus controlled by usb connection, internal photodiode for trigger, etc.) and can be coupled to a 2D scanner (X-Y or angular) for full-field analysis.
TEMPO is used in numerous Universities and private R&D laboratories for materials research and wave propagation studies.
QUARTET laser ultrasound has been developed for industrial applications. Rugged, compact and insensitive to external perturbation, QUARTET allows the acquisition of ultrasonic signal in difficult industrial environment (On-line measurement on hot moving sample for example).
Rugged, compact and cost-effective, QUARTET has been developed for non-destructive testing and laser ultrasound in industrial environment. Based on multi-channel random quadrature detection technology, it is designed for remote detection of sub-nanometre displacements. No path stabilisation is required. The stability of the interferometer is based on the multi-channel, parallel demodulation that is done electronically.
Coupled to a small fibre head that delivers the probe beam and collects the signal beam, QUARTET is adapted to the versatile and demanding industrial applications where testing on moving, hot sample is often required. SAMBA is a polarisation-difference digital camera. Compact and robust, it has all the attributes of a regular digital video camera (easy operation, point-and-shoot operation, firewire connection) plus the polarisation analysis capability.
Polarisation difference camera is mainly used in active imaging configuration, where the scene is illuminated by a controlled source. Measurement with SAMBA requires a totally polarised illumination in order to take full advantage of its performances.
Coupled with a dedicated software, SAMBA allows the analysis of the scattering properties of objects. It is designed for the measurement of the gloss of textured objects with complex 3D shape and can be defined as an imaging glossmeter. SAMBA delivers gloss degree images related to the human visual assessment and gloss images related to the surface quality. SAMBA Hair system is a unique tool to analyse the visual appearance of hair. It is widely used in the cosmetic industry to substantiate claims and evaluate products efficacy such as shampoo, conditioners and shine sprays on every type of hair (TRI laboratory). It comes as a turn-key system including hardware and computer with dedicated software. The hair samples are positioned on a cylindrical mount that slides inside the instrument. The cover allows measurements in regular laboratory environment.

RUMBA is a unique tool dedicated to the IN-VIVO measurement of the orientation of hair fibres. The measurement can be made on hair tresses or directly on a consumer's head, thanks to an acquisition time of less than one second. RUMBA works for any type of hair: Straight or curly, and all colours.
Statistics about the distribution of the hair fibre orientation (mean angle, standard deviation, etc.) in a Region Of Interest (ROI) is simply done. Due to the polarisation signature of hair fibre, it is also easy to extract the hair fibre from the background, allowing area and volume calculation.
After processing, an orientation image where each pixel of the image represents the local angle of the fibre is delivered. The angle information is colour coded.
