INSIGHT100 from Cobalt is a table-top container-screening device for use at security checkpoints such as airports, government buildings and other passenger hubs. The system screens liquids, powders or gels, within sealed containers such as glass or plastic bottles, tubs and other common containers. The detection capability is extremely high and false alarm rates have been demonstrated to be <0.5% (Loeffen, P.W. et al,, proc. SPIE, 2011).

To screen a bottle takes less than 5 seconds.

The system is highly flexible and accepts a range of containers from small handheld items (such as toothpaste and cosmetics) up to 35cm (14 inches) high containers such as wine, champagne and standard 3 litre drink bottles. Opaque and coloured plastic containers are no problem as well as clear plastic. Glass bottles are screened whether they are clear or made of coloured glass.

ECAC Type B Standard

The INSIGHT100 has achieved European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Type B Standard 2 as a Liquid Explosives Detection System (LEDS) and may be used as an alarm resolver in conjunction with existing X-ray scanning systems or as a stand-alone Type B screener.

ECAC Badge

The system uses proprietary SORS technology to obtain a 'fingerprint' spectrum that enables precise and unambiguous identification from a threat library. The system can be easily updated to include new threats.
